MAY 2013
Can you believe the school year is almost over? During April we traveled to South Africa with Ms. Kori. We learned about lions, tigers, zebras, rhinos, and elephants! During April we also studied flowers and plants. We learned about the life cycle of plants and we watched our own beans and seeds sprout and grow. We talked about how plants and bugs are interrelated. We added some new pets to our class: caterpillars and mealworms! We also learned about the St. Paul’s Plus worm factory.
We have finished our Handwriting Without Tears workbooks. Now we’re working on some review activities. Everyone has been doing so much great writing! The children in Room 8 love to help write the morning message. They make signs and books, and they all love to work in their journals, too.
Our class has also been busily playing several new math games: memory, number bingo, team math games with dice, and sorting, patterning and sequencing games. The children also know how to work with rulers and how to make and interpret charts that display math concepts.
It seems like everyone is ready and excited for Kindergarten!
